the waiting game....

they make normal sounds as do all planes, the sound you used to have fun with as a kid, until they fly really low and your heart jumps. its like an eagle that's soaring and dips to pick up his prey. your instinct is to duck, from the loud noise, but also because you're legs lose their balance from the fear that runs through your spine and the vibration of the ground. Not sure what will happen next, your heart stops, and you hold your breath as everything freezes.....complete silence, so you can wait to hear what comes next. It passes within a brief second, and now your heart beats again, and you release your breath. its gone...and you're safe....for now.

the sounds of israel's warplanes finally stopped tonight after hours of soaring through our skies. the t.v doesn't work, our phones don't work and you sit nervously inside your house, crippled by the fear, and restless in a chaotic refugee camp where children are crying and babies are screaming from the sound of the planes. its not normal for one to ponder what they would prefer, tanks coming in, at least we can see them and maybe we'll stand a chance at battling them; or planes that keep you up all night and can drive you to insanity without even touching you. we won't even mention the sonic bombs they can drop. its also not normal for one to want israel to launch its operation already, so at least we wont wonder when the plane will hit or how far or how long the incursions will be. we'll know what to expect, no vague threats....no uncertainty, where tanks are sitting at our borders, going in and out...conducting “routine incursion aimed at locating rockets and explosive devices," as Israeli officials claim; and planes are harrassing us...are they gonna hit or not?

its not over though, we'll be awaken at dawn with the loud thumping at the beach...israeli naval gunboats firing shells to scare off fishermen from making a living....
